A picture speaks a thousand words so you can probably already tell of all the thought and effort that went in to making sure we had the best dining experience. We were greeted by a beautifully set table with the main feature being a bottle of Gordons Pink Gin, surrounded by an array of flavoured tonics from The London Essence and fresh fruit pieces to compliment.
Just before Christmas, I was so kindly invited along to Raheen Woods Hotel in Athenry, Co.Galway to enjoy a lovely meal and to check out the hotel which is situated just 15 minutes away from Galway City.
On walking into the hotel, my immediate thoughts were on how welcoming and inviting the lobby is. It has an almost apres ski lodge vibe to it with it warm wooden finishes and soft furnishings which is continued through to the restaurant where we got to spend our evening.
For starters, we were spoiled with a platter of deep fried brie, bruschetta, garlic mushrooms and a duck spring roll which the pescatarian here had to leave behind.
For mains, I chose a Seafood Platter which consisted of a prawn cocktail, calamari, crab claws and a mini seafood chowder.
..and if all of that wasn’t enough, for dessert I was thrilled to see a Malteaser Cheesecake as part of the menu accompanied with, of course, a cup of coffee.
Everything about our evening spent at Raheen Woods Hotel was just simply lovely due to the staff, the food and the company I was in.. I couldn’t fault it. So if you’re looking for a getaway, a date night, a gals dinner or whatever it may be I’d recommend you check this place out.
